I've had two '85 Si's, both black but the color was never the selling feature. The first was sold because of financial duress, the second was totaled after a traffic dust-up. Had things gone differently, I'd still have either of them.
You're gonna have tons of fun until you have to find good 13" tires and deal with the inevitable IAC flutter.
The CRX is the founding member of the "30 at 100" club - 30 MPG at 100 MPH.
The Insight joined in 2000, the VW diesels got there around when they could do a steady 100, and lately several compact cars have joined it (Dart, Fiesta, Civic, Cruze). My C5 couldn't do it (30.5 indicated = 29 true) and the Prius and Civic Hybrid are both in the mid-20s at that speed.
Ah, I know there aren't any good 13" tires. I'm okay with that. Low grip, low power, light weight - sounds fun.
And check out what I found in the glovebox. Looks like it's always been a Georgia car.

Absolutely a brilliant car. I sold it in 1997. I still miss it. But I was building a race car and there just wasn't room in the plan for the Si.

Woah, a 4 seater CRX? At first that strikes me as incredibly offensive but then...I dunno, the more I look at it the more I like it!
A 4 seater crx is called a "civic hatchback". 
Some say it even came first.
I am on my 2nd first gen CRX (not counting a parts car) and feel very strongly for them. I also strongly agree with you that the sealed beams are the way 1st gens are SUPPOSED to look. The flush glass lights are hideous to me and totally RUIN the cars (and are not particularly easy to swap considering the extremely high chance of cracking any body panels you disturb).
Color me jealous of your uncracked panels (texas sun is murder, and im not just saying that because of the skin cancer!). I will have to spend totally disproportionate money to get my current 86 into proper sealed-beam un-cracked-panel shape. At least i have tons of spares for many items.

Great find! One of the few affordable cars I have always really, really wanted but not had (yet) is a second generation CRX Si, but I also liked the first gen - great company for your Mini. Find a Mugen body kit and I've got some nice looking Borbet 14 x 7 rims that might fit, with really old, really crusty Victoracers...

Ahhhhh .......the good old days when Honda was actually leading the pack instead of following or at least mixed in. When engineering and pushing the envelope were first and foremost. I had a "regular" (non Si) 1985 CRX that I used for college. Perfect car for that. Light weight, economical, fun to drive. I could get nearly 50 mpg on the highway. Sigh. What happened Honda?
Seems like all of us have had one. I too had a first gen CRX Si.

FYI: In my experience, they like ALL THE TIMING. And while there are some who swear it does nothing, between timing advance and the 1st gen integra ecu and injectors, we saw decent gains on the dyno.

I am preparing to do just that. I will begin with musing on the driving experience of 1985.
BTW, my usual commuter is a 1990 Miata with a fairly capable suspension and 225/45-15 Toyo R1R tires. I've had to readjust my corner entry speeds 
What's really funny? My Mini is mostly built from parts from a 1986 model. If you take that as the model year, it's actually newer than the CRX.
Nice find wish my CRX was this clean. I have always had a soft spot for the CRX myself.
The first issue of Auto-X that I ever got my hands on had the King Motorsports Mugen Civic Si on the cover. I may even still have their catalog somewhere.
I have a broken, worn out Mugen steering wheel hanging from the joists in my basement.

Man, I want this car so bad. I passed one up in high school for $500 that looked exactly like this one. It was around 1998, and it would have been my 1st car. I turned it down for some dumb reason, like it not having a V8 or something. I want to go back in time and dope slap myself! It could have changed my life.
I don't even think I'd fit in a CRX now... LOL

Yeah, thats one of the reasons I sold mine. I could only fit in it with a helmet on by poking my head out the open sunroof. Thats how I ran wintercross, and it wasn't very comfortable.

Nice score. Add me to the list of former CRX owners. Mine was an 87 Si, solid red. We only got the Si in 1987 in Canada for that body style. I sold mine when other commitments took priority to a young guy during the height of the Honda scene. He did a lovely job of restoring the car, with a few subtle and tasteful mods. Sadly, it was t-boned shortly after he finished it.
