After I'd bought my e39 515iT I had looked on amazon for replacement headlight lenses, to no avail. So a few months later I get an alert that genuine OEM Hella xenon left headlights are being closed out at something like 80% off. I instantly put one in my cart and a bit later had found the matching right unit which was deeply discounted albeit not as much.
I bought them and began looking for the ballasts and bulbs, assuming there was no way a >$500 pair of OEM Hellas would be complete.
I was shocked when they arrived (2 huge boxes, free prime shipping!) to find they were complete plug and play assemblies that are normally about $2200 a pair.
Nice score! The best I've ever done was getting $50 shock mounts for $6, but the supplier only had two in stock and so far has refused to supply the remaining two.
I love Amazon warehouse deals. Got my tig welder, lemons safety gear, fuel jugs, and tons of other random car parts at a good discount. Sometimes I find a nice deal on something and buy it just to resell on eBay or CL.
