I'm a registered freak, but I gotta say, l LIKE THE SATURN! Those wheels are perfect, the backwards rear doors are choice, and I spy a proper transmission. A guy could do a lot worse. I may find my way to Atlanta in October if you're looking to unload it around then. Just saying.

I loved these when I was working at Saturn. They are just so direct feeling compared to brand H or brand T. Kind of buzzy, but you'll have that with timing chains and not much sound deadening.
If/when the intake manifold O-rings start leaking coolant, I'll let you in on how to replace them in 45 minutes instead of 4.5 hours. It involves a ratchet strap to pull the engine as far forward as possible.

It will very probably be for sale at the $2000 Challenge. It's already wearing Rivals and lowered on an Eibach/KYB combo. Those Advanti Storms are Miata lug pattern too...

The LSD is a safety feature in that car. One wheel peel it too hard in the rain and those have an issue with sending the diff crosspin through the trans case.
Wow, that was a switch. You have my condolences for the future onset of 'roids from the lowering spring/KYB/manual combo in ATL traffic, with assorted Miata-swallowing potholes . . .

It honestly doesn't ride as stiff as the seller made it out to be. Perhaps a little under-damped, but that's a good thing on I-285. Hard left turns activate the "trunk open" light though. An equally hard right turn fixes it.
The dealership, after advising with technical support, is saying the freeze plug was likely defective so they ordered a new one and will replace it again. No estimated date given. Today marks 30 days spent at the dealership in the past 2 months. Or 1 full car payment spent not enjoying the car.
I have a hard time believing a simple freeze plug is defective, compared to a number of other potential issues like leaking combustion into the coolant jacket after it severely overheated or out-of-spec machining on the block casting hole where the freeze plug goes. I get strong BS vibes from this service department. I feel like the hot potato they are juggling until the warranty timer runs out. My gut says GTFO of this car.

You know, Italian cars do have an annoying tendency to catch fire- it would be a real shame if such a thing were to occur while it's at the dealership for service, leaving their shop insurance to give you the full replacement value.

Would it be worth you getting a kit to test for exhaust gas in the coolant? I'm thinking I would do that before I left the dealership.
