"In Car" shifter kart footage at the Isle of Man TT.

The kart in front of the camera car is ALARMING in the straights.

Pure lunacy.

Seen that video before... Something about bike engine powered go-karts..... insanity.

As you can tell the roads are really only wide enough for go karts.

That is insane! How can anyone drive those for any period of time? I'm young and resilient but those things beat me up. I might be inspired driving through town with painted curbs, though.

From the notes below the video:

A 250cc Kart (the ones posted in this video) can have anywhere from 50 to 100 HORSEPOWER with ZERO TO ONE HUNDRED mlie per hour times of 4.5 or 5.0 seconds.

60 comes up in under 2 if my memory serves me right, with a top speed of over 160-170 miles per hour if they are built for it.

Cornering G's enter into the 4-5G range.

Deceleration on a top level superkart is something like 0-100-0 in 8 seconds.

First time I saw a shifter cart, I had to pinch myself. Those things are only possible in dreams or cartoons. They seem to defy physical laws.
