Me thinks studded snow tires would have been quicker.

In powder??? I'm pretty sure he'd get stuck. On hardpack, sure--studded snows would fly.

when are they going to be available for Subies normally. I'd put some on an old GL wagon and go beat Jeeps through some bogs.

Stacy David put that set up on a long wheelbase pickup, pretty cool off road. It will do 70mph, but damn what's the cost to replace the rubber tracks.

there is a video on youtube somewhere where someone has an old 2 door hatchback subby that they had these on and where screaming around with it in the snow before. so this is nothing new though.

Might be good if you can drive on the beaches

I had that same thought about using those treads on the beach.. and then I thought about all that highly gritty sand and all those bearings...

as long as it is not my impreza or my treads... I would drive it on the beach

Most of us would drive anything with an engine. But that is one is really cool if you live in the snow.

Saw it in person at SEMA. It's more impressive than the videos show. Some of the mods needed to fit the tracks were impressive.

In reply to pmchase:

Not a terribly hard job to get, as long as you don't mind working nights/3rd shift. Pays pretty decent too. I work for a resort in Vermont, if you are near I can put you in touch with someone, though we may have finished hiring for the winter season already.
