Anyone have any experience with these? A 200 tw tire this cheap is awful tempting. A set of 285s for ~$600 is definitely talking to me

That's a new one to me but could be good bang for the buck. I know Kenda from the cycling world but haven't had any experience with their road stuff. It's a better name than most of the generic Chinese brands, I'd give them a try if I were in the market and they made my size.

I'd check Nexen Nfera R pricing as well, and would go Nexen first if worried about times. If just having fun, either option would work.

Generally speaking with these sort of things, you get what you pay for. If that's fine with you, then these will probably be satisfactory. If you expect half price tires to be able to compete with the full price versions, you're going to be disappointed.

I had high hopes but the price is double for a similar size.

Oh, I get that. However, this is a challenge car so I am not hunting 10ths. I cannot justify $1500 in tires for a $2000 car.

I am running them on my Skyline in 235/40/18 and 265/35/18. On the same course I was 2.5 seconds off my C Prepared Mustang on 315 A7's. I was impressed with them autocrossing. They're very good for the price and they have solid grip in a straight line too.

We havent run the Kendas but have run a ton of the "sub par" 200tw offerings and found they usually have some great traits and some not so great traits in certain situations. Accelera Sport 651's and Federal RS-Pro/RS-RR's were not bad in the grand scheme of things.

Biggest win for us was to run the Accelera Sport 651 in Champ Car and they wore great and only overheated when pushed well beyond the limit of the car. Dont fault the tires much since we were hamfisting it the entire day. For half the cost of RS4's they took all the abuse we asked of them and never gave up. Think on sale they were under $80/tire shipped.

The local drift guys absolutely love these tires. However, I'm not sure how well they do when breaking traction isn't the goal.

Drifters do value grip but amateur drifters probably value longevity (and/or affordability, IOW doriftus per dollar) more. Generally amateurs run 200TWs in the front and cheapos in the back while pros and those with deep pockets run 200TWs all-around.

There's a catch, but it's just signing up for the sale.

I have not competed on them yet but they are installed on the Z in 225/45r15 and seem to do their job around the block.

any one here have experience on track with the Kenda Kaiser KR20As? Was at a cars and coffee on Sunday the 4th of June and someone had a BMW 135i with Kenda tires.I'm not looking to drift, but the price is worth looking at , imho. I have a 2017 m240i

No actual track experience (yet).  However, just did the grm challenge with them.

Seemed like they stuck okay.  I didn't have the best alignment on the car and finished about mid pack.  I thought that was pretty good considering I haven't autocross in 15 years and the car wasn't setup well.

Based on the wear and condition of the tires post challenge, I would think they will hold up well, but maybe not the fastest tires.

Thanks Rob, I look forward to hearing more about how you like them as time goes by. I do wonder if they will improve with a bit more miles on them as you just put them on right before the challenge right?

On the LS Z they actually had really decent grip. They were not particularly quiet and did their best in the wet. As far as 200tw tires go I was very pleased. They also have most of the sizes in a 100tw variant. They are quite griptastis as tested on an Infiniti coupe in 17" sizes.

10/10 would buy again.
