This yet again proves that I just don't have the skill or testicular fortitude to be a real race driver. Kenny Brack driving Adrian Newey's genuine GT40 at Goodwood in the wet. There's also an interview with him in the next vid.

Ugh that looks even sketchier from outside.
KB was slinging and catching that car all over the course.
- Accelerate
- Counter-steer
- Accelerate
- Shift
- Rinse
- Repeat
- ????
- Profit

And don't forget, this is historic racing in someone else car for fun! I guess after his little Texas shunt a wet day in a GT40 doesn't hold much fear for him.
did you see the closing speeds on some of the other cars, he was seriously booking for the conditions.
You have to admire Newey though, he's not scared to have the car pushed to 10/10ths in his hands or anyone elses. Brack did a better job than Newey himself did at LeMans in it.
HE doesn't look too happy with himself here though!

I have to admire him for having the balls to let the car go flat out again after that.
I assume it's the same car he had repaired.
my head hurts after that......
and THAT is why I prefer to build'em... What Brack is doing is constant
(Big HP-traction control)X(turning left and right)= real racing.
was he running worn out 205/75/15 all season tires on that thing? he didn't have any traction at all whenever he went over about 1/2 throttle...
^They are running Dunlop bias-ply tires according to this interview (that also has some outside the car footage)

In reply to novaderrik:
In the 2nd video(which is even more impressive watching from the outside
) he made a comment about the tires, I think he was trying to say they're bias-ply?
Converting the original GT40 tire sizes into modern term you get:
Front 250/60-15
Rear 325/60-15
Wow. He was sawing at that wheel like he was on a sit and spin..
It was the wet conditions more than the bias ply tires. I run bias ply tires - they have some slip but nothing like that.
Amazing. Just another demonstration that pro drivers are simply on another level. Constantly breaking traction in every direction, yet totally in control the whole time.
wow, that's some kinda wheel and throttle work
Sorry, just a question on the car. I didn't see his hands leave the wheel to shift. I would have thought an old car like this would have an actual gear shift lever. What am I missing?

On a GT-40 the shifter is on the right hand side of the driver. He's shifting with his right hand.
Kenny is the man---- that video is amazing!
