If your key fob starts acting weird don’t automatically think it is a car issue (as I did) Turns out the weirdness with my key fob was because the PO put the wrong battery in it and it was not making a good connection. And when it was the voltage was lower due to poor connection. This makes the car randomly decide that you can not lock or unlock your car ant it will not recognize the fob so the keyless starting stops working.

Then I discovered  the second fob battery was dead. But at least it had the correct battery in it. Two new battery’s later and everything is working properly.

The battery in the key fob that stays in the wife's hand bag died. (About 3 years old) I replaced it and about a week later the battery in the fob that just hangs on a hook in the house died.
