Great news guys!  Duncan Imports and Classic Cars will be bringing a host of -- never sold in the U.S.-- Nissans to the Mitty!   These include a bunch of ridiculously irresistible Kei cars, and some heavy hitter Nissans as well.    The kicker?   Nearly all of these cars will be for sale!  That's right, get a ride to the MItty, and drive home in one of these killer machines!

Oh man... Good thing I have no interest in putting up with RHD!

Were kei cars ever sold in any LHD markets?

I believe they were Japanese market only.......but I've been wrong before.   That said, I've never seen a LHD Kei car.

Lol. Yeah, the Nissan figaro, real performance option there! It looks antiquated, but has the most bland 90’s styling, Especially inside. I’d rather buy something that looks old and IS old. That way it has an excuse for the way it drives, looks, behaves. /rant.

But, I am super glad to see these taking off. It’s funny though, there is a Subaru sambar 2.7 (not engine size!) down the street from me for sale. He wants 9k. It’s been there for months. I see lots of ppl stop to look. But no one has bought. It’s just too much money for what you get. Add in the lack of “Autozone support”, and you have a reason to not buy something that you would take your family camping in.

The import tax probably needs to come out of the asking price on these. I saw a Honda beat on Craigslist a week ago for 3,500$. THAT was the right price. Had I had the cash, it would be home.

I would love a PAO (or Figaro or Be-1), but as Trackmouse said, the "import tax" on them vs. what you get vs. lack of easy parts availability is what keeps me away. Far away.

If you are concerned with the cost, or parts availability, talk to the folks at Duncan Imports---- they have literally hundreds of these machines.  I'm sure they have a line on basic maintenance items and other parts.   They also have all kinds of other cool machinery ( Fairlady Z-cars, GTRs, etc.)

I love those things and would welcome a Figaro in my garage.

The PAO is delightful. I'd love to have one. Here in Canada people have managed to keep them going for about 10 years now so it can't be too horrible.

Tom's Turbo Garage recently posted a walk-through video of that place.  They have an incredible number of JDM cars, and a bunch of other neat stuff as well.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkaNzVrtMq0

Other than being stinking rich how does he sit on that much inventory and still turn a profit?  Not hating.  smiley
