Methinks alfadriver should come back to the Challenge and see how he measures up these days.
Both in car and driving. Bring back the Alfa! or at least an Alfa!
He does seem to be milking an old, very old, autocross win on the road course a long way... My teets are sore, come out and play!

To ride along with the likes of Alan, Ian, or Danny is quite the experience. The way they can hit the perfect late apex line on every corner, nail the brake points with perfect precision, even in an unfamiliar car, and position the tires just inches from the cones every time is almost beyond belief.
Hi Jerry!
I did not mean to come down on their skills with that comment. In fact it didn't cross my mind when I wrote that. More an observation on trying to learn the course in three runs (before the fourth and last) when the pros had all day.
I have ridden with Ian in my own car and have no doubt he could beat my times with once familiar with it. I consider myself a decent driver but am too loose to ever be a top level driver (You've seen me run the 5.0 Volvo). I tell people to get you as an instructor at the events if they want to see a smooth fast driver.
If I was running a car that I had a lot of seat time in I would take choose myself over a pro. The main reason I ran the 5.0 Miata was because the clutch didnt work and I would hate to get mad at pro driver if he couldnt make it work. Well that and since we built it and this was first time it ran you are damn sure we are going to enjoy it.
See you at the next CFR event!

Thinking about it.
The Alfa probably isn't in the cards- I'd be surprised if the current owner sold ot back to me for what I sold it for. An Alfa, we have some ideas floating around.
But Ego's last a long time....
