The time has come to change the oil in my 4agze and from what Ive read 10w-40 is going to be the best bet. However most of what I see is "high-mileage". Are there any performance oriented 10w-40 oils out there? Dont mind ordering online.

It's not that hard to find performance-oriented 10W40. Redline is great for mixed street and track use, although I hear it becomes incredibly thick in winter temperatures.

Valvoline makes a "regular" 10W-40 (which I've had no problems with in heavy performance use) and VR1 (that blue racing oil) 10W-40.

If a 0w-40 will work you'll have plenty of readily available, inexpensive options.

0w-40 will degrade faster than 10w-40 which will be a problem for street use...same problem with 5w-40 which I've looked into for one of my own cars. The bigger the difference between cold and hot viscosities, the sooner the oil will need changing.

10w40vr1 or 10w40 castrol should do the job. I ran the castrol in my roller 302 for 2 years. Penzoil also makes a "racing" oil that competes with vr1

High mileage oils have additives that help swell the seals of older engines.

Which works great for my normally aspirated 4age with over 290k miles. I just use Mobil 1.
