Are they universal? I need a 5/16" hose barb on each end. And it's gotta be EFI. I found a dodge caravan v6 fuel filter fits this exactly, I'm just worried about flow. Are they pretty universal as far as restrictions go?

Yes.

*Unless you drive a car that has a built in fuel pressure regulator in it. Easily identifiable because it will have 3 or 4 lines going in to it.

Once the fittings are the right size I wouldn't worry about restriction, that would only come into play if you're doing something custom with seriously undersized fuel lines. Just don't put a filter meant for a carbed vehicle's low/slight negative pressure system on an EFI'd car!

I use to have fuel starvation issues with my 240sx when I auto-xed with less than 1/3 tank of fuel. I upgraded my fuel filter to the larger 300ZX TT filter and it worked as a surge tank. It was larger in size and less restriction in the inlet/outlets. Now I can run it until the fuel light comes on without starvation.

I can only Imagine the carnage.

Almost any Nissan filter from start of the EFI era to, certainly, the 90's at least, will fit your need. Really early EFI Fords had barbed ones, too. I think. Early 70's D-jet Volvo and Volkswagen as well, but its way easier to find a Datsun one.

All of the above are 5/16, or 8mm.
