I'd like to own an LJ, but the price on those is still sky high. It's too bad that they weren't available through the whole 97-2006 TJ run.

LJs were the original TJ "unlimited" version that was larger (stretched) but still had 2 doors... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeep_Wrangler#TJ_Wrangler_Unlimited

JKs have the normal 2-door versions, sport(base), rubicon(off-roading goodies), sahara(painted fenders, nicer interior & trim), though most can be configured in mix-and-match options, and then the unlimited is the 4-door version, again with all 3 trim levels...

At 3" I'd be looking at a motor mount lift to correct some of the rear driveline angle.

In any case, you need to spend some time at www.jeepforums.com a lot of good knowledge there for the beginner to get an understanding as well as hardcore tips
