Particularly, what are you facebook marketplace search terms? I'm having a hard time finding anything with "open wheel" and "Indy vee".
Is another open wheel chassis I don't know about (thats cheap)? And no go karts.

What class do you want to run?
F500/fmod is the cheapest way I think.
Apexspeed is the universal formula car site.

I own and run an Fmod
I'm another F-mod / Formula 500 competitor.
Formula 500s are the fastest of the non-winged formula cars as well as the cheapest.
The only other cheap alternative is a shifter kart; those beat me up (I'm skinny) so I went with a Formula 500
You can also check Apexspeed.com
Here's the roadrace shop manual video, a bit more tech, but prices are roadrace eligible cars, autox only is very very cheap. $3k could get you a car cheap.
I own a very early Formula 500 so as well as autocross I vintage race mine. To dates I've invested $6700, that includes buying 4 spare engines as well as spending $1300 dollars to have the car and spares shipped across the country.

In reply to Buck Futter :
That one is listed as sold and I think a YouTuber got it and is just using it to Hoon and do doughnuts. But more like that come up frequently, there was a rules change on main rollhoop diameter in the early 90s that made a lot of cars ineligible for roadracing (at least without cutting the car in half for a new main hoop). Those cars are autox only (unless you find a friendly vintage org evidently) and can be dirt cheap.
I have a roadrace legal car that I got for $8k with an enclosed trailer, race suit, helmet, Hans, spare body, wheels....
There isn't a cheaper way to FTD consistently outside of a kart.
Thanks!
I have a thread for it, at some point I need to fix the photos in it. Last page is mostly good though.

I run my car with VARA. Also VSCDA allowed them at Road America earlier this year.

I like their rules. 4 and 5 should be universal to all organizations, I guess political groups can skip 4 but should add extra 5 to make up for it!
I like driving from the proper driving position in my open wheeler. Gravel gets thrown at you a lot while driving it. Rain events SUUUUUCK. Watching the tires go past cones is cool. V8 noises are fun.
What else do you want to know?

What chassis is that and how much did it cost?
For comparison, a good shifter kart costs $5000, runs 10 hours on a $900 engine rebuild, uses a set of $220 tires for three or four events, weighs about 210 lbs, and can be stored vertically.
I agree with the F500 recommendations if you still don't want one.
In reply to Buck Futter :
It's Miata front and rear subframes connected with a bit of scaffolding. I paid $1600 for it, former Challenge build that hid in a barn for a decade before I brought it back to autocross glory.
