Bought a ram 78100, I've been out taking measurements in my bellhousing and clutch assembly. One problem I'm having is that I can't get the throw out assembly to fully retract. The video put up by RAM shows Mike freely pushing that assembly in and out. Mine does not do that. I'm no whimp, but I can't get it to move more than about 1/16" out, and can't move it at all for retraction. Am I doing it wrong? I'm new to this style of throw out system.
Emailed RAM, no reply. But yesterday was c-mas observation so may not get anything until later today.
Tried figuring what model truck a Ram 78100 was at first.
The pressure plate thro-out arms push the bearing back.
But if it won't extend then something else is wrong. It's a hydraulic cylinder. Nothing magic about it.
Far out: was there a plug in the hydraulic fitting that didn't get removed ?
No. Both ports are open. RAM emailed back and said "possibly it's an old unit and it's stuck." They gave me the go ahead to use all my force. I'm thinking rags in a vice.
