I found this local to me and there is just something about the curves of the door lines and the back end. And a 429. Just to say your car has a 429 is cool I think.
I really hope this is sold when I get back from vacation. I just dragged home a project truck and if this shows up in will probably be in big troubble.

1970 T Bird with 429
I had a '67, which is pretty much the same car but prior to Bunkie Knudsen putting the Pontiac-esque front on it. It was cool just for being an old interesting car (and mine had the suicide doors), but I somehow doubt it would remain my favorite if I were to drive its contemporary competition.

Dean, your CL link isn't working for me, but one thing that I always get a kick out of with those big Fords is that the big block engine that just barely fits in a pony car doesn't look big at all under a T-bird or Lincoln hood.
When I was a teenager I knew a guy that had a Lincoln town coupe with a 460. I swear the front end was like the engine room on a ship. You could walk down in there and close the hood behind you, and still have plenty of room to work.
There is nothing better for eating up the miles than an old American full size car.. the Fords were built especially beefy with fully boxed frames made out of 1/8" steel so they just feel much more stable at speed if everything in the suspension is in good shape.
Our LeMons ride is a '75 Ford LTD- fully boxed perimeter frame. It rides and feels like a solid chunk of iron. The 460 (a bored 429) is a torque monster.
Buy it. Drive it.
Best friend has a 72 thunderbird. It's cool, but not my style. And parts are surprisingly difficult to find if not basic mechanical stuff.
I have been a Ford guy all my life, and I always get a kick out of telling the GM and MOPAR crowd things like, "you see that old Boss 429 that just ran an 11.xxx E.T.? You know that's just a typical Ford TRUCK engine, right?"

I am already thinking it needs the flush door handles that Kindigit design uses on I'll his cars. Bag it. Wider tires but not crazy big rims. The rims would have to be one offs as I would want them to match the original hubcap design. Original interior just re done in leather. I would even keep the original color that is on the car. Keep all the chrome trim.
I think I just spent $30k on a 10k car.

Agreed, the nose of the earlier car with the tail of the later one would be stellar.

Back to the 70. . .. Headers, A "quiet" set of flowmasters for just enough rumble. And then put electric cut outs just to make it sound nasty when you want.
I wonder if there is a cam and intake that would wake that thing up a bit as well. Hummmmmmmm

Love the land yachts but just a few years older. I almost bought one exactly like this one with 16k orig miles from the 2nd owner. Could have snagged it for 13k and had the full approval from Mrs. 84FSP. Sadly measured it an it was a full 16inches too long to fit in my garage...

This seems like a steal to me? Am I just out of touch with prices for the not-quite-famous muscle cars from 1970?
Body even looks nice, but he does say in the ad he just recently go it, and now is getting rid of it, and is even considering trades for other projects. I read that as one of two things, either "I found something horrible and I have to dump this car" or "I got this car for free so I'm just going to sell it on now for some quick cash".
I hope its the 2nd.

I've always wanted to do a '61-'64 T-Bird up in full NASCAR trim with good suspension, a stroked FE and a 4-speed and wiiiiiide slicks on steelies.
I had a 1965 2 door in the light blue with a white top in the late 70's (I did not have my licence yet. I completely restored it in the driveway. My dad did not think I could do it but once I got it all sorted and sanded and in primer he sprung for a good paint job and actually drove it for a couple of years. We then sold it and I made a nice bit of $$$$. Got a 67 327 RS SS with the $$$$. Beat that in to the ground because at the time it was just a used Camaro. Figured I would just go get another one. . .. . LOL Now look at what they are going for.
Anyway the 65 was exactly like this one.
