I really like this. But maybe with a Coyote under the hood and some serious suspension work. And no berkeleying way I will be doing the frame up rebuild on one of these; I would have to buy it done.

Am I just out of touch with prices for the not-quite-famous muscle cars from 1970? Body even looks nice, but he does say in the ad he just recently go it, and now is getting rid of it, and is even considering trades for other projects. I read that as one of two things, either "I found something horrible and I have to dump this car" or "I got this car for free so I'm just going to sell it on now for some quick cash". I hope its the 2nd.
Getting a car like this you have to figuar something like a complete motor or trans or complete floor board or trunk replacement or possibly some frame repair. (Note that it is sitting on dirt not pavement) If it does not need it you are all the better. What caugt my eye was the color and how strait the body appears to be over all as well as the panel gaps look very good and all the trim is there.

Forget the Coyote, put the whole deal on a lowered 3/4 ton truck chassis as a tow rig

Most of what works for the 460 will work for the 429 as well. You can follow my 460 build HERE.
A Cobra-Jet type cam and Edelbrock dual plane intake topped with a Demon 750 carb would work quite nicely, and get you dangerously close to 350 HP and well over 400 lb-ft with a 429.

I had the same build in my head ever since I was a kid!!!
Love me some big block ford un-corked engine noises!!!!! I was at Limerock for the vintage race about a month back and there was an original cobra with a big block running. The noises coming form that thing on track made the whole valley rumble!!!

Th best thing is, you don't have to start with a pristine one with all the unobtanium chrome trim and interior bits because it's all getting 86'd anyways.

Well as long as we're just posting stuff we like, and not stuff the OP has a prayer of finding under any sort of budget...

How doable is the truck chassis thing? I would think that thing on a 2500 with Duramax power would be incredible. Maybe a frame notch and bags to keep her low?

I think with drop spindles, torsion bars, and a notch/axle flip out back you could get down to stock ride height, maybe lower depending on how you modify the floor to get it on the truck chassis. It would probably ride like garbage, though.

Somebody was doing something similar to a '53 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz (That was the one with the stainless steel roof, right?) and they had the DuraMax set to kill. And by kill, I mean 1100hp and 2000 lb-ft. I forget the name of the shop, but it was a fairly big name.
I love the big old fords. If i could find a cheap one locally id DD one again. The issue around here is the derby crowd have killed most of the 4 door stuff.
I want an Mark V with a modern chassis, 3.5L Eco Boost, built by Foose or Kindig it ,finished with blue/green chameleon paint and rainbow titanium anodized in place of chrome.
Here is another one that I would like (Recardo not included)
My friend had one and the seats slid sideways and pivoted for easy entry and exit. For some reason I thought that was just the COOLEST thing!!
I don't get the desire to put diesels into old American-luxo iron and I probably never will, but I guess it takes all kinds.

Anything is welcome!!!
Just trying to stay away from the usual pony cars. Muscle cars with class may be a better thread theme.
The most GRM big Detroit iron is probably the 65-70 B body, it's the 4th most produced car ever, with a production run of only 6 years. Takes (and came equipped with) pretty much any engine GM built in that time frame. Can be made to do pretty much anything you want without too much trouble.
Also available in wagon form, along with coupe, convertible, hardtop, and sedan.
