If you need any more reasons to try and get your hands on a limited-edition Civic Type R, how does setting the record for the fastest front-wheel-drive lap around the iconic Suzuka Circuit in Japan sound?
Suzuka has long served as Honda's Formula 1 race track, with the brand using the circuit …

the limited price will be through the roof here.
They added aftermarket wheels/tires and removed 28lbs of stuff and they will change $25k more for it. Thanks, I'll add my own tires and remove a seat and save the $$$

When they offered these for online pre-sale in Canada, they sold out in about 4 minutes. Only 100 are going to Canada. The United States gets 600. You can bet there will be huge 'additional dealer markups' on these things.

Depends where you are at. In SoCal and Central Florida (my two homes) Honda dealers are still marking these up on average of $8k from my weekly search. There's one dealer in Central Florida that has a whole flotilla of CTRs and all are marked up $5k minimum. I won't mention names but its Coggin Honda Orlando.
Seems as if you have to go very inland to find the MSRP ones.

Yup my brother got his CTR from Spreen, MSRP.
I love them but can i see myself in one is the question. The rear fake vents bother me sooooo much.

In most cases, the markups on the coasts mean you could buy from a dealer in the middle of the country, have it shipped on an enclosed trailer to you, and still save money. I know a few years ago a couple of the 949 guys flew out to OKC to buy GT350s and drove them back to Southern California because that was still thousands cheaper than the ADM there.
Imagine how silly all the people who paid WAY over MSRP for the Supra feel? Less than a year later they are $4-7k off MSRP with 0% financing from Toyota. Then add the '21's received drivetrain upgrades.
If you had the means to buy one & only put a couple hundred miles a year on it, I'd bet it's a decent investment ever with dealer markup.
Or hell. Buy two. Park one and drive one...for roughly the same price as one ITR.

Oh yea it's totally worth the travel at some point. I'm not hellbent on buying a CTR but if I find one locally for MSRP I'd likely jump on it. SoCal dealers also have markups on non performance pack Veloster Ns. This place is a madhouse but the car culture is rad.
