Just discovered this option recently while looking for a specific part number and they popped up in my search results...

https://www.lkqonline.com/

...prices are about double-plus compared to visiting in person at their U-pull.

I found the website to be a little clunky, but still spent some time browsing just because I like seeing what's out there.

It casts a wide full net nationwide so that's a good thing which allows for maybe finding some rare bits 'n bobs.

I'm primarily interested in R53 MINI's --- I came across a car in Texas that had an aero kit and I wouldn't mind having the front bumper and grill since both are NLA nowadays...

But the site doesn't give option to buy it, nor any contact info for inquiry.

Was thinking maybe I'd call the location it's at and ask them about it, but in the meantime was just wondering if anyone here has ever bought anything from LKQonline?

LKQ is an insurance industry term meaning Like Kind and Quality or generally meaning "used part".

LKQ Corp (owner of LKQ Online) is one of the largest, if not THE largest, JY operation in the US and beyond.  I have not bought off that sight specifically but they are not fly-by-night.

I've used them several times and have always been satisfied, which is more than I can say for LKQ PYP where I find they ALWAYS attempt to overcharge to me to the point that, even though I don't, I understand why people steal, relays, fuses, switches and anything that will fit in their pockets. It's gotten to the point that I'll hold up a part ask them what it is and then have to correct them. I've left a full wheel barrow more then once due to their ignorance. The online is as advertised with none of the headache of incompetent, ignorant staff.

Is the inventory the same as the LKQ ebay store?  Their ebay inventory is huge.  I'm always amazed that you can find decent full engines for less than the cost of the engine covers of other models.

My LS3 came from a dealership who purchased it from LKQ.  They also usually have a warranty and my previous transmission came from LKQ.

Tell me about it, seems to have gotten much worse as of late for some reason too.

I travel for work and get to hit various yards throughout the southeast and end up visiting quite a many of the LKQ PYP locations - some are better than others although I've noticed an upcharge trend company wide, like last month I was in SC and there happened to be a fresh 1987 Jag XJS there and I fell in love with the pushbutton switches + rocker switches on the console, took the time to get them then at checkout they wanted to charge $14 each for the pushbutton style switches so I left most of them at the counter, they identified them as sensors even after I pointed out that they were just switches, given, they were rather oddball looking Lucas things, but jeez, it's really frustrating.

My problem with the LKQonline is that it seems very limited in parameter of option for getting a specific part --- the car pictured earlier was found on a search for intercooler, but when I input front bumper cover it doesn't show up. I'm going to call that location tomorrow armed with the stock # and see how it goes trying to deal directly with the yard that has the car.
