So it’s already in my drive way as the wife’s new daily. 2012 Honda Civic Si 6spd sedan with 85k on it. It’s super clean and the wife loves it.  I’m just curious about any know issues or such to keep a eye on or fixes to things that I might need in the future. It’s our first Honda as well. I checked the forums but most seem geared to coil overs and loud exhaust. This is a daily and kid hauler. Thanks

I've owned 3 and collectively put 100k between the 3 with no issues. The K24z7 is pretty damn solid. Unfortunately the 9th gen forums are hot trash on a humid south Florida 100 degree day. Great find and a great commuter car.

Thanks, good too hear. I was going on Honda reliability as I couldn’t find any crazy issues on the net about them.

Do stock newer model Honda rims fit without issue? Can I swap 16inch rims on or stay with 17’s? I’m looking for a spare set for snow tires.

16's will fit on the 8th, no idea on the 9th gen.

17's will be an easy button for snow tires. You can probably find aluminum accord wheels with snows if you keep your ear to the ground. Mustangs from 94-09 are all the same 5x114.3 bolt pattern. So looking for snows from a mustang might be a good bet as well.

Carl has one and loves it. Let me see if he can chime in.

Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind while trolling C list and such.

16s will fit fine on the 9th gen. I used some 16inch RPF1s on mine for track days.

Mine is actually an 8th Gen. My son Jack just took it over since he's got a 60 mile round trip commute. I ran it up to 230K and he's going to try for 400K.

Im going to replace it with a 9th or 10th Gen. I'm leaning toward 10th but will buy a 9th if the right one pops up.

Also, David seems to have forgotten that he owns a 9th Gen.

Ha, I didn't see the photo. Once a car gets to the third generation, yeah, I lose count.

TL;DR: My wife drives a 2014 Civic Si that we bought new. So far it's needed tires and last week it got a new battery. That's it.

That’s whet I was hoping to hear, guess i should have been buying Honda’s years ago.

And I'm home now and just asked my wife about her car. Yep, in five years (almost to the day) it hasn't needed much:

Tires last year

Battery last week

That and just regular oil changes. We did transmission fluid with the last oil change. We'll do coolant soon. I think that's been it. She has 40k or so on it. It's a 2014 Civic Si sedan with navi and summer tire option. Before this, she drove a 2000 Civic Si that we also bought new. That one needed about the same. We've had a bunch of Hondas. Our mower is a Honda. It's 17 years old.
