Went to see my dad and he said 1985 was the last one this was on the road....
Friend of mine's dad has a Buick Skylark, I don't think his son or myself were born yet the last time it had tags on it. We're both 22 for context. My Dad's 280ZX has been waiting It's turn for at least 15 years now.
there is someone on this forum who's had a non running e21 for damn near a decade now. i think hes currently driving a miata or something girly like that
I have a X19 that I got before the first Challenge.
Ill make anyone a grate deal on it. A better one if it goes to the Challenge.
Its in Longview TX 75602. Im in Austin TX :(
My insurance agents been waiting on a bodyguy too finish his 66 charger for 19 years now lol. My personal longest term would be the zephyr, mostly because everything's slow and budgeted since kids and house come first.
In reply to Daylan C :
Long story, but after year 3 my agent bought a new to him 66 charger and considers the money he spent payment for storage. The saddest part is the lingenfelter built new gen hemi sitting in saran wrap waiting.

Not sure who that is, but I have an e21 that has tags as of 2014.
It was on the road probably all of five minutes in 2014, but on the road none the less.
Sure like to meet that other dude, and commiserate....
My uncle has been working on a factory five cobra for literally as far back as I am capable of remembering. It has been almost ready for paint for a few decades now. Long enough that recently he has had to replace some bushings due to age. Only car I've ever seen start going through consumables before ever making it down the driveway
My late father and his friends have been working on a TEK 7 for the last 30 years or so. We all fell in love with driving an original 1965 Lotus 7, so decided to build one that fit them better with a Buick 215 V8.
One of them started this company, that is now a division of another.
The 7 has been so close for so long.
My Dart's been off the road for about 10 years. It's very close to being back together, but it's been tricky to find time to work on it.
My 62 Dodge Dart was last on the road in 65... I bought it in 1989.... been slowly collecting parts and changed direction a few times but it's still waiting on my to get a lift and get mov'in on it.
I've had my CRX since 2005, and only once was it "done": in early 2016.
It has never spent more than a year off the road, though.
I had my MR2 Spyder for over 5 years before driving it on the road for the first time. Drove it to work today and it's been amazing having a convertible for spring again!!
I would love to know when the Molvo was last on the road. It has been in my hands going on 5 years and I believe the same for the previous owner.

I've got a 55K mile 1991 VW 2.0 GTI that I bought in 2003. I'll get it running one day, I know I will..................I WILL !!
A friend has a 1974 Capri that's been sitting since the early 90's, last plate tag was 1992! If we're lucky it will get back on the road sometime next year but it won't be "finished".
Ima gunna do this. Other than family vehicles, every car/truck/ motorcycle I've owned, since I'm 16. That's close to 50 years.
I drove my 64 Spitfire into my garage in 2001 when we moved into our then new house. It has been under a car cover ever since.
We got most of our challenge cars and shizzle load of drive till they failed at the yard ,, figure penny s on the dollar for getting into Jesus built my hotrod heaven .. plus bikes Ct 110 s old Rd 350 25 years with our MGA Coupe wonder if Tim"s Lotus is IRIS Blue ?
Is it a project if it just collects dust? I know a woman that has an early Corvette in her garage, when I met her almost thirty years ago she told me she had owned it about ten years. She has never made any attempt to get it running. I have a friend who started a restoration on a '71 or '72 Ranchero in the early 90's, it is still in primer and probably will be for another 20 years. He has started and finished three or four other projects but never has the time to finish the Ranchero. He has been trying to sell it lately so someone might get it back on the road.
