for sale is a 93 vw eurovan 5sp.
engine running perfect, but has a problem with transmission (manual).
comes complete with the new style wheels and tranny that's already out of the car.
can't finish it, no time, need my garage back...I need it gone this week.
come and get it for a low price of $500 (these engines sell all day long for $1200-$2500)

A dealer near me has one of these (running, of course) with an automatic transmission. I didn't know these were sold in the U.S. with a manual transmission. Anyway, running, the one here is selling for $10K....in other words:SMOKIN' HOT DEAL at $500.

well, still available. Saw it, talked to the guy, says he was at a stop light, light turned green, put it in 1st, and it wouldnt move. Said the trans locked up. He started taking apart and just gave up. Its the inline 5, so cant use a Jetta/Golf trans, need to find this specific trans. Gonna do some research on them today, gonna try and find a trans for cheap...
That is a sweet find. I bow to your Craigslist skills. Now you just need to find a TDI to stuff in it. A friend's synchro Westie (w/ transplanted TDI) gets 30 MPG highway all day long.
well, just sourced a Trans from North Carolina for $600. May have a running Eurovan by this weekend!
There's one outside of Nashville for $400.

wow, what a night last night! Came back yesterday with Froggy (Fit_Is_Slo 
), talked to the guy some more to find out he wants to trade software for his Audi B5 S4 in trade for the van! SWEETNESS!!! So, we get to work putting the subframe back in so we could get it pulled up on a flat bed. We had the whole thing bolted in, ball joints reconnected, steering arms reconnected.... Came down to 2 bolts: the top to bolts for the Torsion bar. We had the bottoms on, but not the top. To get to the top would need assistance from God since it was so tight. Flat bed gets there at 11pm, yet there was nothing we could do. No lights, barely any tools and 2 very tired guys.
I also made the mistake of drinking an energy drink at 11:30, didnt get to sleep until 3am.... So yea, kinda cranky this morning, running purely off of coffee right now. All in all, very excited to get this back soon so i can start ripping it apart again and getting it running.
Wish i could have snapped some more pics, but my hands were all greasy
