I have two cars (944 PTE and C5 lowered) that need to the be raised before the arms on my two post lift will swing under them. They are different WB and track. I have been using a hit or miss doubled 2x4 method that works (sometimes takes a few try's to get the car up and the wood clear of the swinging arms) but there has to be a better way. There is a bridge between the posts for the cables. Curious if the hive has concocted some genius solutions.

How much do you have to raise before the lift can fit?
A few 1/8ths of an inch or 2-3 inches? More?

About 3". A doubled up 2x4 does it on both cars.
Can you make four wooden 4" ramps and trace outlines on the floor where the ramps go for each car?

The knock-off race ramps at autozone and pep boys are great for $40.

I had the same problem with my 2 post and C5. I tried the Race Ramps, but it was wasn't a great solution because my RR didn't have a flat portion. I found the easiest was to pull the car to the spots marked on the floor and use my floor jack on the front "fang." It allowed me to raise the car enough to slide in the arms.
Cut the floor and make a 'pit' for the parts that interfere with cars rolling over them.

That's more or less what I've got. I probably need to just refine my ramps, mark my floor more accurately and add some grips to make them not slide out. The other thing I've done is the jack method mentioned below. That requires removing the air dam on the race car.

They're too steep for my Mustang. I love those Rhino Ramps for all my other cars, though!

I just use used brake rotors. You get 2 "steps" from them, but you kind of have to stop on them just right.
Maybe use PT 4"x4" with a ramp/wedge cut out. Use a length of tow strap to keep the fronts and rears connected and from moving.

Ok....there's something fresh! Tow straps to keep them together....I'm going to ponder on that one.
I think my 4x8 ramps will work with some of the suggestions. Measure well, mark accurately, make sure I'm centered. Some devise ( maybe the tow strap idea) to keep the ramps from walking. And I will also add a piece at the end as a stop.
May I recommend putting an ancor onto the concrete with some epoxy for the ramp positions? Then, when you switch cars, the bump or whatever you use can just be hammered off.
