I have a set of 949 aluminum nutz in my garage because while they worked well on my last car with extended ARP studs, the stock studs on my current Miata only reach half of the threads on the fancy nuts. With only 4-5 threads of engagement, I feel better about steel than aluminum. Stock steel acorn nuts for me.
I ordered the FM set last night. They were the same price as 949 but I think I like the knurled ends a little bit. Now this will hopefully motivate me to clean and 'dip the wheels a dark color before it gets too cold to paint.
