You already know how I feel about custom vans and murals.

Semi-related: years ago, my friends and I would go junkyard hunting across MA for junkyards with old cars in them, just to look around. We found one called Henry's in Blackstone, MA. The directions to get there were funny: Take a right down Mann St, and then hang a left at the leopard-skinned custom van. It looked like something that Steel Panther would own.

For the record, I want a custom van, and I want this painted on the side, except replace Simon Belmont with his sister:

I often go to the local GM dealership for parts and get that tune from the salesmen - what would it take to get you into....

My invariable answer is that it would take GM making a decent sports car that isn't a Corvette. At that point they often try to convince me that a Camaro is a sports car at which point communication tends to break down pretty quickly....

So did you keep the Volt JG?

Volt went back at the end of its lease. The plan was to wait until the 2016s came out, then do another Volt–either a '16 or a screamin' deal on a leftover '15. But ultimately I decided it would be better to have something to tow the F500 with as I already have the MR2 as a daily, and while I dearly love the Roadmonster, it ain't getting any younger.

As for how I like the Promaster so far, well, I liked it for the two days I had it. Part of the deal was that the dealership was going to install a backup camera, as it was the only option of the ones I wanted not on this vehicle. The one they were going to install was an aftermarket one, with the display in the mirror. When they pulled the old mirror off, they took a nice big chunk out of the windshield, too. So now it's parked at the dealer until they can locate a new windshield. Being an Italian car built in Turkey, I think it might be tricky. I'm gone all week at the GT350 launch, though, so hopefully by the time I get back they will have tracked one down. If not I'm going to ask them very politely to remove one from another vehicle in stock and use that one. If they don't do that I will ask again not so politely.

My last two press trips have been Viper ACR and GT350. I need to enjoy them while I can because I can feel a Tercel junket coming on.

I actually like the look of the Doblo and had a whole thread on the Doblo pickup.

In reply to JG Pasterjak:

Oops. It might depend on why removing the mirror broke the windshield. If it was purely a tech error, then yeah... might not be a problem... but if he did everything right and it was something to do with the windshield, then I could understand the dealer being hesitant to risk having two vehicles down and needing a windshield they are having trouble getting.
