Both styles of camber bolts appear to work about the same way, is there a benefit of one over the other?

Are you talking about the ones with the plastic sleeve vs. the ones with an actual cam lobe on the bolt? I've used both and never noticed any difference. They both worked fine for me.
I wasn't aware of a type other than the cammed bolt + weird washer type. I've had SuperPro bolts (cam type, similar to Whiteline) on the front of my 86 since last fall and they've been fine through 2 autocrosses and a few hours of driving so far, probably helps that I run them in the maximum negative position.
