So I normally change the wifes oil the past few times with Rotella T5, this time I grabbed T6 full synthetic. The automatic trans seems to slip a bit sometimes when going from like a neutral to first gear. Besides this it is fine.
I would have thought the trans was using ATF anyway? But it seems to have started coinciding with this recent maintenance.
Any thoughts?
The matrix/vibe auto trans pan has a drain plug just like an oil pan.
I have personally mistakenly drained ATF from the trans instead of the motor oil. It uses Toyota type 4 but m1 atf seems to work.
Double check you have the correct amount of fluid in both the trans and engine. Hopefully it's that simple.
Good call. That is exactly what I did. Found the oil over full and the ATF way low. Should be fixed properly now
