I noticed a strange noise a little while back when I turned off the engine in my 91 Miata upon getting home after work one day. A few seconds after the engine was shut down, there was a gurgling type noise coming from under the hood. Any ideas on what it could be?
Coolant being sucked out of the reservoir to fill the radiator as it cools.
That's what I was thinking it was. Is that normal?
I think so, mine did it a day or so after I refilled the cooling system.
I made sure the cololing reservoir was topped off and it still does, but just to a lesser extent. Not so worried anymore about it.
