Look at the combined passenger and luggage load of a Miata ND..........
340 pounds max.
Might leave out most American couples even without luggage.
My 2nd gen GR86 is 700 lb. max load.
Squint, and look over at the right side....it says 154kg/340lb........and I can read it at 20 years older than you. I need to learn this computer stuff now that it looks like it's not just a passing fad.

FTFY.
Even if that's a PRHT GT, that's pretty ridiculous.
340 lbs? That's ridiculous, we're not even particularly large people and TM and I exceed that. I wonder why it's so absurdly low?
I'm remembering a scene from "Flywheel" with 2 guys trying to get out of a Miata... EACH of whom exceeded that!
My NAs rode fine with almost 500lbs of people in them. Adding 4 12 packs of high life bottles had it sagging a bit though.
I wonder what that weight limit is based on. I just checked my R53 MINI and it's 370 kg/817 lb. Both the MINI and a new ND Miata run the same size tires, so that's not it. The Miata has the higher power number, too..
A vehicle built with minimal chassis structure and super soft suspension has minimal cargo capacity rating? Shocking!
Maybe they based it on our family; the wife and I are 257 combined......that leaves us 80lbs of luggage and a couple of big gulps.

how about lumber and cinder blocks? I don't have a picture of me hauling doors in one from Lincoln to Angels Camp, but that was a fun party trick, steering AND shifting with my left hand and holding the doors with my right.

Wow, ya'll are lightweights. Myself and girlfriend are 295 and I am only 160 by myself.

No picture unfortunately, But I've had about 300lbs on a HF trailer behind the Miata. It looked like just a dresser, but I had that 1950s solid wood dresser filled to the brim - all of my tools, some weights, hockey equipment, etc.
I noticed it on acceleration, but not braking - though I was very conservative.

The wife is a ringer at 112lbs...........but her cooking plumped me up to 145. I was around 125lbs when we got married 33 years ago.
I'm at 200, so if I order a new ND-RF I'll have to ban my wife from riding with me, and get myself a lightweight girlfriend.
Appears that I have severely overloaded mine regularly. 14' aluminum Jon boat using the roll bar and windshield frames a rack ,4 hp Johnson seahorse in the trunk along with tools , 2 shot guns and waders and finally 2 duffel bags strapped on the trunklid that had clothing and food. Usually 350 to 400 hundred pounds of flesh in the seats
