Hi, I performed the power steeringectomy as outlined on flyin miata's website. Everything seemed to go very smoothly. But now the steering feels bound up. If I am on a bumpy road or one with lots of undulation it actually feels ok, but just cruising on a highway it will almost stick in place at whatever angle the wheel is turned. Its quite interesting to say the least! My car is lowered and shows about 12.5" front & rear from hub center to fender lip. I have taken the rack back apart and regreased and made sure I didn't goof something up. I also tried the little tension adjuster set looser and a bit tighter, but neither setting seemed to change much.

Thanks for any help ideas or suggestions Paul

I'd spend some time with the rack on the bench. At what point does it bind up? Does the rack slide easily before the pinon is installed? Does it feel "sticky" after the pinion is in place and tensioned?
