Can someone please burn this damn thing to the ground?

The clutch wore out (expected at 95,000+ miles) so I did the swap myself. No problem there, but the electrics were all wonkey. OK, I traced to a bad ground, re-did and the car is happy right?

Wrong. The oil pan rusted though and sprang a leak. Doh! So I order the parts from Tokyo and wait for a week or so and do the swap. Hardest part? Removing the oil filter that was apparently welded, epoxy bonded, bolted, and then superglued to the block by the 5-min oil change place. Doh! Got everything bolted back up and now the car runs fine for a minute, but as soon as it starts to heat up the thing just dies at anything over idle. WTF?!?!?

I suspect the O2 sensor because I unplugged it, then plugged it back in. If something is not making a good connection with a 4-wire O2 sensor, what would be the result on performance?

Try unplugging the o2 sensor to make it stay in open loop and see if it runs fine after warming up. A wonky u2 sensor can do all kinds of bad things. What kind of Mitsubishi? That's Japanese for "teach the neighbor kids bad words".

Thanks, that's a good idea. Its a Mirage, named because it has only the appearance of being a car. It is in fact, satan's poo.

I have one too, my brother says it's a false impression of a real car. I've been through the whole thing so if you have questions just ask. I might even have parts left over that I need out of my storage.

You'll need to log in to post.
