I am not looking to run a GTI in prepared I was just considering it for "future possibility" shopping for cars right now.
I don't have access to the rules right now so i'm going off member. So the 2010-2014 GTI is listed in a specific prepared class that doesn't list the MK7 gti. However in there it says it's also for other 2wd cars that are sedans and 2.0L forced induction etc. So does this mean that a 4 door GTI is in this class and if you are a 2 door GTI you are in some other one?
Thanks for any help with this.
This is what I am talking about
Volkswagen
Golf, Jetta, & New Beetle (1.8T, Mk4 chassis) (1999-2005)
Golf, GTI, GLI, & Jetta (2.0T) (2006-13)
New Beetle Turbo
Passat VR6
R32
Volvo
240 Series Turbo (all)
C30 (2006-09)
S40 (1995-2004)
S40 (2005-11)
“Catch-all”:
6-cyl (normally aspirated) or 4-cyl (mechanically forced induction) 2WD sedan under 3.0L not other wise classified. (See Section 15.1.C for update/back date limitations.)
It is in F Prepared due to "“Catch-all”: Sedan (4-cyl forced induction or 6-cyl, NOC)"
However, because it is in a Catch-all, it is not eligible for national competition.
The next class the car would be eligible for (if it is truly ineligible for SMF) would either be X-Prepared or E-Modified.
What are you planning that would send the car all the way to Prepared?
I was just reading the rules for all the classes and was curious what class it would be in if I had it set up for prepared. I used to have a WRX back in the day that was in prepared. Maybe in the future I would do prepared again so if there was an issue with 4 door vs 2 door I wanted to be sure before i buy a car.
I plan to run GS though if I do go through with the purchase.
Sedan in SCCA speak means it has a back seat, not how many doors it has. For the purposes of the class, both 2 and 4 door versions are sedans.
