Almirola appeared to get the worst of it. Although a fiery car can't be a very comfortable place to be either. 
What are we talking about here? Racing seats in regular cars? Or crash safety and shopping cart racing?

Guess I shouldn't have said anything...NASCAR bashing is pretty tiresome.
It's not just the "new" seats found in stock cars, it's a whole list of items that have been moved, upgraded, redesigned, or reinforced. Cockpit design has advanced leaps and bounds the past 15 years or so. Just to play devil's advocate, drivers have been walking away from "deadly" wrecks since auto racing began. Many times it just comes down to blind, stupid luck whether you walk away or not. Michael Waltrip at Bristol is a prime example of this.
