Is it impossible to modify a retro car to a high performance car? If it is, where should I begin to do some researches?

I modified my canoe to be a high performance speedboat, so I don't see why not....
If you're not a paddle power watersport enthusiast, could you provide more details about what you're thinking of?
1) What is a "retro" car?
2) What do you consider a "high performance" car?
no, definitely not. You need to go buy a new Hellcat if you want high performance. Otherwise, you go slow.
Anything is possible with enough skill. If you don't have skill, you have to substitute it with money.
Does he consider a "retro" car to be a New Beetle, PT Cruiser, '05-'09 Mustang, or other faux-retro styling things from 2000 and later?
If so, I'll just leave this here...
You guys are aware that a large portion of the world calls classic cars "retro cars" , right?
I know it is a canoe but...
In reply to Trent (Generally supportive dude) :
I know that a large portion of NASA considers some rockets to be retro.
MadScientistMatt said:Yes, but I wanted an excuse to post a ridiculously modfied New Beetle.
This is a laudable endeavor!
In reply to Cooter :
Retro and High Performance. The USAF did some retro and high performance mods with the YMC-130H when they wanted to land and take off in an Iranian soccer stadium.
It was a 'mostly good' idea.
That's a very weird form of retro. You can see it's also carrying JATO.
This is retro, Soyuz style (slows you down, or reverse normal thrust):
wait, which beetle is retro? the new one or the new new one?
Also, there are now about 3 retro camaros and 17 retro mustangs to pick from.

Bots seem to be working like beach volleyball teams now - one to set it and one to spike it.
Sometimes they come back and edit the post after it's fallen off the front page instead - but this thread has been derailed so badly that isn't likely to happen any time soon!

If you were trying to come up with a magazine cover to be very clearly British and not American, I think you'd have a hard time doing better than this. Almost every piece of text is pure Brit. And of course, Turbo Nutter is as good as it gets.
