First, let me say, I know no one can know. All the same, let me lay out a scenario and get some semi-informed opinions.
On a 70ish second autocross course, about how much time difference is there between old A6s (that you corded on your second run) and new A6s?
We had an event yesterday. Witnter series, so some guys in different cars, some fast guys not there, lots of testing, etc. That said, I made some chages to the car that clearly worked. Best finish ever for me at an autocross. 5th overall out of 108 drivers. But now it's bugging me to know what I might have been able to do on better tires.
It was almost exactly one year ago that I took the car out for the first time. That day I was 56th out of 79 drivers. So it's come a long way!

do you normally race with your wallet in your back pocket?
cause the weight reduction would be significant....

Old a6's aren't very good. I'd say at least 2 seconds. Are the other guys on sticker Hoosiers?

No, and that's why I know it can't be known. I doubt anyone was on brand new tires for a winter event, but most were probably in better shape than mine. If I could have been one second faster it would have put me in with a group of guys I'd like to be running with before too long.
I'll know soon enough. Need to bite the bullet and order new ones either way. Those fronts won't pass tech again. But more fun to wonk on autocross numbers on a Monday than work.
At least a second. Maybe more. Cycled out A6's suck.
My one and only experience on slicks were worn A6s. They were worse than my rs3s. I'd say its an easy 1second difference, probably closer to 2.
