I didn't add to my previous post, we did have a 92 and 00 chrysler vans in the family previously and never had a trans issue.
Seems its a widely talked about thing (chrysler transmissions sucking) but in reality not as widespread as you'd think. Or just one of those things that yeah, 20-30 years ago was probably true but its completely different now. Like korean cars being junk.
Thanks for all the responses. So far the GC looks like the clear winner for our intended use, and I've since found way better deals than the one down the street.
Was hoping to go for a test drive with mama tomorrow, but they're closed on Sundays
In reply to poopshovel again :

I like Honda, there is a Honda in my garage. I've raced HondaI've sold new and used Honda's
But somehow every Honda Odyssey seems to be driven by Mr Magoo.

we've got an 09 ex-fleet GC with the stow and go seats. If you plan on switching between hauling people and hauling cargo with any degree of frequency, you can't beat them. FWIW ours is an old school 4 speed 3.3 setup with 160k on it with no issues mechanically. A friend has a newer pentastar powered one and has had no complaints (neither has her mechanic )
