...and if I'd known a few months ago, my Dodge Dart project might have gone in a very different direction.

Here's an example link. It looks like you can get the Maserati 4.2 V8 in the $2000-3500 range, in good working order, without looking very hard. What would the perfect car to put one in be? Is the answer always Miata? Put one in a C5 Corvette to turn the tables on LS swaps? Do a Pro Stock style RWD conversion and build what the Chrysler TC by Maserati may have looked like in an alternate universe?

BiTurbos tend to need engines.

I feel like you owe it to yourself and all of us to do this.

Although finding a BiTurbo Sport and dropping it in, might be the most amazing thing ever.

Wow.  Good to know.  Backed up on projects, but man one of those would be nice.  I mean, I want a Maserati GranTurismo pretty much solely because of the engine noise.  And they look fantastic, but the lack of a manual neutralizes the looks bonus.

I approve of putting this in anything but an Italian vehicle.

Oh! Just thought of the perfect car to put one in. A fiero kit car.

A Merak. And if not a Merak, then a Citroën SM.

This looks like a deal breaker to me: Getting a gearbox of some sort stuck on the rear is going to require  some ingenuity and $$$

I see in one pic where the computer would plug in, but I dont see said computer, and even if it was included, how many body modules does it want to communicate with?   Tui parli CanBus?

The obvious solution there is to keep the stock transmission. Which is really skinny with a weird output. Transaxle?

I seem to vaguely recall that the later Quattroportes (2007 onwards?) seem to run the ubiquitous ZF slushbox after the automated manual that needs a new clutch every 15k miles wasn't such a hit. Not sure if they've got a rear transaxle, though.

I think getting a non-electronically controlled box hooked up to the engine might be a bit harder, though.

In reply to clshore :

Anything can be made to fit with copious applications of angle grinders and welders.

Is that similar to what the Homebuilt by Jeff guy  (Jeff) is putting in his Alfa Romeo?

He's using a frisbee transmission and a custom adapter plate
