All the "go for it!" Comments about this car made me happy to read. Then I came across this:

To some extent, yes, waxed over a lot of details with "several thousand dollars". Canadians pay out then nose for car parts too, remember that. Doesn't talk about the six cylinder cars, or the diesels. Everything on those cars is rebuildable, and diyable without much in the way of specialty tools. Pretty sure you can DIY roll in a chain and guides on a V8 car for well under a grand, including tool rental. Doesn't say E36 M3 about sway bar rust either.

They're certainly cheaper than upkeep on a RR of similar vintage, and the benz is nicer in every way.

Hes wrong about desirability of coupes vs sedans too, at least in northern ca. Coupes get donated and go to pick and pull, along with 85 and older gas sedans. The only ones that get offered for sale most of the time are diesels, and gen 2 gas sedans. I actually want to get rid of mine, it needs a lot of work (none of it is terminal, just a lot of time that I don't have), but for most of the time I had it it didnt take any more work to keep running than any other old car.
