I had a buddy in high school who got a ticket for 32 in a 30. No, really. He was (IIRC) 17 at the time and driving a Chevy van (his dad's) and was going down a hill in Columbia, dragging the brakes the whole way trying not to go over the limit because the cop was right behind him. The cop was a Forest Acres cop, well known as the most strict in the city. He went to court along with his dad, the judge wouldn't even lower the fine. I guess they were determined to teach him a lesson.
Haha! Forest Acres sucks. So does Springdale!
Youngsters don't really have rights in court. I grew up in Orangeburg, SC where kids would get reamed over running the yellow light. Seems the judge had a child that had gotten killed in a wreck and took it out on anybody under 18.

^^ That happened to me, too. It was an additional ticket on top of one for speeding.
Yes, it was a violation. You will notice that they no longer require you to sign them though. Think they will give you your money back?
I seriously doubt it.
Yeah, Forest Acres is the sux place to get pulled over, worse than Springdale. The absolute worst place in SC is a dinky town onn Highway 21 called Ridgeway.

Not a citation, but an "at fault" accident. I was driving my '84 RX-7 up North Central Expressway in Dallas. Some light rain had slicked up the roads somewhat. Coming over a rise in the road, I saw that traffic was stopped short. I stepped on the brake, skidding the car. The RX-7 spun, but I managed not to hit any cars or the guardrail. The car came to a stop, with me facing an oncoming car skidding toward me; he made contact. I was at fault in the rear ending of the front of my car.
