I would like to see more pics, is the frame still Olds? How neat is the rear firewall? Is the inside finished out?
That's a 1972 Cutlass, not a 70. Either that or they swapped the hood and grille from a 72.
In any case, at least they did it to a 4-door. I'm a huge fan of the notch-coupes and convertibles. Best looking of that chassis IMHO. Those 350 rockets are torque monsters.
as an el camino guy, I disapprove.
now a 70 442 w30 front clip and interior stuffed on a 71-72 el camino body. with corresponding rear bumper and olds 455, would get my seal of approval.
and yes, im planning on doing this someday. probably right after I win the lottery.
Back in college, a good friend of mine drove a hearse--like for daily transport. It was a mint '72 or so Caddy. Once we went to a salvage yard way out in the sticks of Georgia. Anyway, one of the guys walks over the Caddy and starts drawing a line down the side with his finger: "If you cut it off here, this would make a really nice pickup…."
We didn't say anything and just left.
