my sons Jetta

My son has a Mk 2 Jetta we have been slowly working on and have plans rollycross at sometime. I had to help him limp it home today after it got stuck in 3rd gear. We haven't had time to look at it yet dose anyone have any tips or suggestions.

I have heard 020 trannies can be "over shifted" into 3rd and get stuck there. Never done it or seen it happen myself though.

Take a look at the linkage on the trans and see if the pins/levers have come loose. it is a push/pull turn type thing with 2 levers/rods acting on the part attached to the trans.

We were thinking rallycrossing but given we would have push it off the line "rolly" might be more our speed.
