So as some of you know Curtis bought my Prius C. Though my wife agreed to it, she thought offering to let him crash for the night before driving back home to PA was a little odd. She polled her friends and they agree with her, of course. I didn't think much of it. I had no fear that he was a serial killer or anything! LOL
I mean, if you can't trust a MegaDork on the GRM forum, who can you trust?
Serial killers hardly ever buy your car first.
GRM Dorks might even have lower percentage of serial killers than that.
I've let others crash, and have crashed at places when I went long distance to buy vehicles. It's always been a good time.
She just couldn't handle the large bundle of sexiness we call Curtis, and it's showing.
Have you cross referenced Curtis's purchases from GRMers and members that don't post anymore?
The chance of a GRM dork being a serial killer is low.
But never zero.
Question? Should the Hive be offended?

Good lord, I should hope so!

I was wondering what y'all were talking about in the other thread. Im not offended. Your wife isn't on here and doesn't know that we are all basically the same person.
I think I have invited about 10 grmers to stay here. My wife is familiar with our "type" (she might actually be "one of us").
I don't think its weird. It's weirder that we trust each other on the board with thousands of dollars worth of merchandise just *because* they are a grmer.
It's like family. Sure, I might not know my creepy uncle that well, but I'm pretty sure he won't do anything if he spends the night.

I thought you were saying you let him crash the car!
Id think it really weird if I DIDNT offer to let someone stay over.
I think your wife's friends are odd.
So, apparently you married up?

Yet they would probably totally be okay with running off with people they only know from their true crime murder podcast club.

Wow. As a MegaDork myself, I find this to be personally offensive.
Please make it clear to your wife that she's no longer welcome to spend the night at my place.
I probably wouldn't let any of you stay if I had young children in the home. But my son is 14 and could probably beat yall old ass. I understand her concern though
Funny, I proposed a cross country road trip where I only stayed at GRM assist list locations. I did get several offers to put me up for the night.
Would my wife understand if I offered a random GRMer to stay as part of a fly and drive or on the road assist list..maybe.
How about a game where I take a POS and drive it to a GRMer's house near my next car purchase. Unlucky GRMer gets to keep the car, and I drive my new car home. Like a fly and drive but more fun. This puts the POS in motion for the next trip. POS enabler edition.
No disrespect intended, just a personal opinion.
I think her reaction is weird.
I ran this scenario past my wife. She's OK if I were the buyer and staying at your house, but not the other way around, unless it was someone I already knew.

You're a real sociopath if you murder people in your Prius C.
Although, they'll never hear it coming

Kinda this.
Homes are sacred places, I fully get a nom-GRMer goin "y'know, maybe not?" when asked.
If we are talking my bachelor's apartment, stay on my couch and Im sorry for your back. If we are talking my place with my gf, she and I are gonna talk and provided you aren't trying to squat and it isnt a permanent couch-surfing deal, come on. If the kids are home that day, I'll probably feed you and then happily wave you along down the road.
I can see both sides of it

"That's silly, honey! What are the odds of two serial killers being in the same house?"

She's doing this for your own good, friend.
