Hi all,

I'm potentially going to pick up an NB in the next couple of months so I'm planning mods and trying to figure out which autocross class they'll put me in, as one does. Is there a class that's worth building to? Looks like a Torsen equipped NB plays in STR with the S2000s, where its badly outclassed. They can play in E Street, but only with an open diff, right? Is there something I'm missing, or do I just have to accept that a fun street car won't win any trophies?

I'm sure I'll get corrected if wrong, but I don't think a Torsen bumps you from ES.

A Torsen is totally legal in E/Street, except for if you are using different gear ratios than what the car would have come with or it was a '90-'93.

Well, looks like I can't read good when it comes to rulebooks. Thanks y'all!

Probably what you were thinking of is, IIRC,  a Torsen isn't legal in STS - which is another Miata playground.

Oh yeah, you're right. I've got too many letter bouncing around in my head now. NB, STS, STR, ES, etc. laugh

I can tell you as a person running an NB Miata in STR that it's really outclassed...especially if I'm the driver!
