Looking at a 2012 PRHT midline model, under 16,000 miles. A couple barely perceptible scratches, I fit though no helmet space, but buying it as a (gulp) responsible adult vehicle.

$19xxx, so it will be the most expensive car I have ever purchased, and also the most civilized, though my old SLC Benz came close...

Can anyone tell me why I should'nt buy it? I will be keeping either my '95 or '99 answer, and the Grom and Strom will also stick around, just want something a bit quieter, and civilized, while still being fun. And Keith can always help to make it more fun:)

Do it.

I really like the NCs myself. Perfect for a 2.5 swap, or if you want to go nuts a V8 is great because it can actually fit bigger tires than the NA/NB.

Hate to un-enable, but to me anyway, 19k is still a lot of money for a little used car. At 19 K, it still has a lot of depreciation yet to do. What does a 2012 do that a 2006 or 2007 doesn't do?

Also, at that price it's not so far away from the price of a base model ND.

If I were shopping for an NC, I would look for a 1st or 2nd year car that was well taken care of. One that had already taken the much of the big depreciation hit.

And has a power hard top. And better suspension. Forged motor. Probably a 6 speed.

RX-8 R3s are coming down to that price range, so it is time to buy before the bottom falls out and they get cheap enough to be ruined by doofuses?

I just picked up a used '15 GT with a soft top for... Some more than that. Love it so far.

$19,000 looks like a smoking bargain when you consider that the nice man at Mazda just did all the math and let me know that a brand new ND was going to require $45,000 to park in my driveway.

In reply to NOHOME:

I looked at an ND yesterday and took it for a spirited test drive. Apparently there's a mark up on them that wont be going away for awhile.

I had to bite my tongue when the salesperson informed me that their competition was not the FRS but rather the Mercedes SLK. and that made it a GREAT value. It is this kind of insult to my intelligence that makes me hate car salespeople.

In all fairness, you need to realize that we have a 13% sales tax here.

I don't think we are going to see any significant deals on the NC until the ND is common enough to sell at or under MSRP.

$45k CDN! Yikes. Is that all up with tax & financing costs?

Cash price and no dealer mark-up. No discount either

'cause if you buy it, you'll be the responsible adult for every last penny of the $19K purchase price. Kids can't sign a contract.
