Never knew they made this body style in a 2-door. I like it.

I think these cars are pretty close to hand-built as the mods to make a coupe out of the sedan were not normal production-line stuff. Doors that were hand built nearly a foot longer, stuff like that. I've seen exactly one in real life on the street and thought it was very pretty. Ford V8 is an interesting change, probably not a bad idea for usability, too bad the trans sounds like it needs some help.

The inline 6 is great, just not terribly powerful and most can't fathom SU's
Many dump them for the more powerful and common V8 with a 4-bbl.
The funny part is that the engine isn't the problem. The electrical system usually is. Fix that and you'll have a more enjoyable vehicle (aside from other common LBC issues aka rust, etc).

Same here. I have to admit, it would be cool to tow the Jensenator with it.
they look great, but I've heard that the build quality is awful. Mostly because they were turning sedans into coupes during BLs lowest point of worker morale. I would love to be wrong, did I mention that they look great?
They are definitely lookers, and I would consider one if someone rewired the thing. Do they have those weirdo independent rear ends with the brakes on the wrong ends of the axles?
If it's as good a body as it looks it has to be worth getting, finding a rust Series 1 or 2 and converting back to Jaaaagggggggg POWAAAAAAA

Yeah pretty all Jags until the end of the X308 XJs had inboard brakes.

Yeah, by the time the Series III XJ6 came out Jaguar had been building and racing those 4.2L inline 6's for like 60 or 70 years. The engines are rock solid, mechanically, but they weigh a ton and have pretty unimpressive stats.

Yea I forgot that was about the low point for British Leyland.
