While probably true, the transfer case is the same unit as in an AWD Astro. It's one of the parts that was parts-bin engineered and not Syclone specific.

That makes sense since the rest of the drivetrain was boring old 4wd S10. Plus, there was probably a lot of idiot-saving involved, not that someone would fill the bed with cement bags, hook up a trailer, and then run it at max boost for minutes climbing a long grade.
