Hey GRM Dorks (which I someday aspire to be)

I am having some brake issues with the family truckster that I cannot figure out. It is a 2007 Saturn Vue V6 FWD. I JUST did a full rotor and pad change on the front of the car. The old rotors were getting warped, so I figured it was time for a replacement. Anyway, after the first 500 or so miles, the brakes started squeaking and grinding, but only when turning the wheel. It is really pronounced when at full lock and applying the brakes (like when pulling into a parking space). I also hear a slight squeaking noise when driving at slow speed.

I have visually inspected everything again, but I don't see anything amiss. There is no abnormal wear that I can see, and the brakes seem to grab and stop ok. Like I said, the grinding only happens when turning and braking, so I am assuming something is loose or bent. Any ideas?

Thanks!!

backing plate is the most common thing I can think of.

yep, sounds like a rotor splash shield got tweaked in the process.

Thanks guys. That is one of the things I was thinking, so I will check that out next. I was also wondering about a bad wheel bearing, so I may look at that too. Anything else you can think of?
