I never wanted a Corvette before. I do now.

Aim it at a younger generation? They can't just be selling it to a handful of Gen. Y celebrities. Either they're thinking long-term about the used market or they're trying to make it cool to the younger crowd as a means to appeal to the mid-life-crisis crowd (or maybe both at the same time)

Technically this is the best Corvette yet, but looks-wise I still prefer the C6. The C7's styling is a bit...loud.

Yeah, that red with black accents treatment is the business.

I was the one of the early styling detractors based on that pre-debut rendering of the rear 3/4 view. I gotta say the rear fender haunches work better in real life. Thumbs up from this guy.

I'm liking the new Vette more & more. I just wish they'd departed further from the old Corvette look. They've carried over many key items that I'm not crazy about. But I like a lot of the "little" things they've added to the car.

Recently they had a Z06 flying down a country dirt road in a film I saw and it made me appreciate the Big Beyonce type rear. I still don't like the looks, but if it works then I can get over it. And obviously by watching the airflow and the dust - it works.

I'll need to see it in person before I'll be able to totally commit. The Presence in person will say a lot. The last few Vettes have felt much bigger in person than they really are. I prefer a scalpel over a sledgehammer.

I've said for years a 3/4-7/8 scale Vette would be perfect.

I'm not happy about them using the Stingray name as it seems they are hoping to get some of the panache of the old name, but without making the sweeping changes that I feel should go with the name. I remember when it became the Stingray and there were such sweeping changes in the looks that I would expect the same huge generational change to before I can justify resurrecting the name

I see the Stingray name referencing more of a design philosophy than specific cues. The C6, at least in its standard guise, has always looked very sedate to me. The Stingray takes the Corvette in a much more aggressive direction.

Perhaps the American way is to not care about how Europe perceives the Vette, but I really want it to do well overseas. I predict the C7 having much more of a shot than previous generations. Its look finally match its performance.

That walk around video w/ Leno shows many more details and was explained much better than the original GM reveal. I like it much better now.
