Unless there is significant production, I doubt these will be too cheap. Think about a 2003 Cobra. Those are still trading for mid teens or higher.

IF Honda built them, not a problem.

Maybe they should try building a sports car instead of their current lineup of appliances then. At least Ford is putting out some exciting stuff and doing a damn good job at it.

Anyone else see a porsche-esque rear? Perhaps it is just the angle.

You have a very good, but discouraging, point. I guess I better start saving now.

I don't know if I like the sound better than the normal Coyote... but I certainly like it. A lot.

Does anyone else think those seat bottoms look really wide? The bolstering is there, but I could park a car on the flat part. They need to offer a skinny guy seat option.
I still think it's awesome. Is there any word of the tire size? The new GT is still way under tired with a 255 on the front.

I'm guess the base MSRP will be at least $50K, plus another $5K or so for the Track Pack.

On the plus side, in a few years I'll be primed and ready for a proper mid-life-crisis purchase.

In reply to mazdeuce:

The wheels are 10.5" wide F and 11" wide R. Regardless of what comes OEM, that should be wide enough to fit a substantial tire in the 285+ range.

For reference the normal GT with the Performance Pack are F 9" 255, R 9.5" 275, if I remember correctly.

So I'm guessing something like 275/295, 285/305.

In reply to IanF:

Those wheel sizes are good. The stock GT is 9 and 9.5 and 255-275. 10.5-11 should be in the 295-305 range. That's good.

autoblog said: Okay Chevrolet, the ball is in your court. Ford served up one hell of a rebuttal to the track-focused Camaro Z/28, introducing the limited-production Mustang GT350R, complete with over 500 horsepower, over 400 pound-feet of torque and freaking carbon-fiber wheels. Carbon-fiber wheels. Seriously.

The wing is take it or leave it, but its purely FPV Aussie inspired.

Wow. It's incredible that cars like the Z28 and this exist these days. Just think that in 2003 it was reasonable to outperform that Cobra with a stock Mustang and the aftermarket, even without spending a ton. In 1993 it was -easy- to outperform the OEM with the aftermarket. In 1983 it was ridiculous. With these, though, it's going to take some doing to outdo them with the base model without giving up something major.

Best quote so far on the GT350R, from MotorAuthority:

We've all been waiting for Ford to step up to the gauntlet laid down by the Camaro Z/28. It's clear that time has come and we can't wait to pit these two against each other. The Hellcat can watch from the corner while it does donuts and burnouts, because there are adults in the room... and they need to talk.

Good one.

First I thought the world was over with the Boss 302, then they did the Laguna Seca and I was sure it couldn't topped. Then the Z/28 and now this. I wish I was ten years richer.

You are entitled to your opinion, but this particular one is completely wrong.
Well im wrong a lot so no problem, I will listen again, but the clips at the race track didn't sound all that good, sorry. I saw some people were asked on another site what engine does sound good and I was surprised a lot of folks said the 5.0 fox-body mustang, which I always thought was the case as well.

I've heard V8s with 180-degree headers and they sound fantastic. This one sounds sort of... "half way there."
