I'm a new guy here, so, allow me to introduce myself.

My name is John Block and have been in racing for 42 years, now. You can see the gory details on my personal website www.johnblock.com I have a business called Auto-Ware and do everything from suspension software development to fly-in race engineer.

Lately, my data acq training classes have gotten real popular (you can see more at www.auto-ware.com). In these classes, I share my experience as an motorsports engineer and the tricks I've picked up over the years working in everything from IRL to NASCAR, SCCA and even the good old days back in USAC.

It would be great to meet more folks here, so please post or drop me an email.

Welcome to the site. I'm just about to start down the road of data acquisition and analysis in autocross. I know you charge for your knowledge, and that's cool, but if you stumble upon my (future) thread and can offer any guidance without giving too much away, I'd appreciate it. Data acquisition has gotten cheap enough that I think the only thing holding a lot of people back is the lack of real world public information on how it can be used. We'll see I suppose. Glad to have you around.

Maybe I'm wrong, but this feels frighteningly similar to a small boat that is powered by paddles....

Dont know if he advertises here but the advertiser playground may be a better spot to post in.

Hey Mazdeuce, glad to comment on what you post. Heck feel free to email me if you have a specific question.

No relation to Ken Block, although I could be his dad. I'm of the generation that smoke is lost traction and you are going slower, lol.

Maybe I post too early in the day and need to wait until happy hour, huh. Maybe the committe is still reviewing my membership application. Geez guys.

If you post pictures of cool race cars or engines we would otherwise not have access to, all will be forgiven and you will be welcomed as a brother.

No need to wait that long. There's plenty of beer in the fridge.

We are a good bunch of guys and girls here, we're just a little leary of some of the spam that ends up here. I read your post and it read like a commercial, since it was your first post I want to be sure you aren't someone with a business that wants to advertise here without paying for it.
If you are legit (if I thought you WERE a scammer, I'd have been pretty clear on that) keep posting and you'll be welcome with open arms by everyone here.

Sounds like you've had a pretty awesome career Mr. Block! I believe it's story time! Also, as previously stated, race car pix are a must as well as funny and scary stories.

Ready? GO!

Okay, now I've got it.

A coke and piece of pie to the first person to correctly identify the make and model of this car.

Hint: notice the little fin between where the nose attaches and where the shock cover fits? That totally gives it away

Some kind of Indy Lights car? It looks like maybe a mid-80s March? I am not that familiar but they had that swale you can see behind the damper openings.

I've been here years and still can't do it right. At least at work I can't.
